A Dancer's Note

Image
In today's time, youngsters are more inclined towards artistic and creative fields when it comes to choosing their careers. A lot of people indulge in fine arts and performing arts from a very young age.  Back in the day, choosing performing arts, especially dance wasn't encouraged like it is today. Dance is customarily considered as a hobby or a secondary  career opportunity by the society. In this ever-changing time, dance as a profession is still not considered a dignified one. A huge part of the society, if offered a choice between being a dancer and doing a desk job, would plump for a desk job. One would come down in favor of a desk job owing to its respectability and financial stability. Dance is a correspondence of mind and soul portrayed through movement, expressions and musicality. In my belief, dance can be witnessed anywhere and everywhere, from the sound of local trains to the slightest monsoon shower. At times it can help you calm your anguish, but on the oth...

A Man Without Liberty Is A Body Without Soul : Partly Yes !

Everyone has some goals to accomplish in their lives. Each one has a different approach towards the journey of accomplishment of goals. One may either have a statistical plan into the process or may set themselves free to live life knowing the efforts they need to take to reach their desired peak of success. A planned and disciplined life may add up to the efforts one is taking but may necessarily not let someone be happy. But an equally balanced life that is one with discipline and liberty may experience satisfaction or contentment in every task.  Liberty may not be limited to achieving something but in normal life too. Too many restrictions may spoil one’s life. A person without autonomy may choose the wrong path to experience things that a person with freedom does. For instance, if you restrict your child completely from having spicy or sweet food as it is not good for health, he may never experience or understand what spicy or sweet means. Herein if you give him limited l...

Science And Superstitions

Image
Indians have hard time in choosing between believing in science or superstitions. It is presumed contemporarily by beings of our country that truth is represented by ‘science’ and false assumptions by superstitions. Each holds a different place in the hearts of Indians. Science has made it possible for us to reach on the moon and work on advancement of technologies. But living in this era of advancement, some of us moderately welcome new thoughts and believe in superstitions, or rather superstitions based upon ignorance and dismay. John Balderston an American playwright has said “The superstitions of today are the scientific facts of tomorrow”, but this is relatable in a very few cases. For instance our parents recommend us to have mixture of yogurt and sugar considering it to be auspicious. But scientifically yogurt is soothing for stomach and sugar provides instant glucose that makes work energetic and easier. But baseless superstitions like tasks getting delayed if a black cat cros...

Help Them Learn What You Learn

I presume all of us are aware of the current pandemic. This sudden widespread of COVID - 19 has changed our stereotypical fast and furious lifestyles. We have been going through numerous inevitable changes in the past few months. We must stay home and work as well. People like me staying in cities or urban areas are rapidly exposed to newer concepts like work from home and online education. We have various modes to connect to the world and stay updated but the rural parts of India aren't exposed to this quirky medium of education and learning. It may be due to their economic condition or may be due to unforeseen circumstances. To help such people, Mr Pradeep Lokhande from Pune has been requesting people to send their old but working or new mobile phones to such needy and help them get educated via the online learning platform. With the help of Mr Lokhande's foundation Gyan - Key under the program 'Yo Mobile' we have to courier or old working or new phones to a specifi...

Respect !

A couple of days back I was informed that my college lectures will be conducted online. I was quite excited to learn from this new online platform. All of my online learning sessions were quite good. Today I received some screenshots from my friends regarding a disgusting act happening during an online lecture. The teachers give in their all to adjust to this new platform of teaching, preparing presentations, and explaining it. They do it for us. We should be the responsible ones, be aware of this, and respect them. A handful of students trolled the teachers upon their camera angles, way of teaching, and accent. Some also had the audacity to talk about the teacher in the middle of an ongoing session, completely off track. These guys had the effrontery to use abbreviations of abusive content. Despite knowing that the name of the student should not be changed during the session, some students changed it in contrast. They changed their names to the names of public figures like "Naren...

Books, not my Foes !!

Image
T his is my first Blog !! There was a time when reading or writing didn’t intrigue me and my parents tried their best to make me read books, but all in vain. Once my English teacher asked us to write a book review for which I had to read a book. The first-ever book I read was ‘The Magic of The Lost Temple’ by Sudha Murty. The book convinced me that reading wasn’t that bad. I wasn’t ready to accept the fact that I liked what I was doing, ‘reading’. But slowly I started reading more books. I won't say that I love reading or we can sit and discuss the books I've read, no. I'm not a frequent reader or something called a ‘Bookworm’. I cannot sit and read books for an entire day with a mug of coffee to compliment it. But I like reading articles, blogs, or even experiences.
